Terri C. Smith has curated more than 80 contemporary art exhibitions, receiving three, multi-year grants from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, among other awards. Smith’s exhibitions have been featured in publications such as Art Papers, artcritical, Artforum, Bomb blog, The Brooklyn Rail, and Degree Critical. After 13 years as a contemporary art curator at Cheekwood Museum in Nashville, TN, Smith earned her MA from Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies (2008). Since moving to Connecticut in 2009, she curated shows at the Westport Arts Center and the Housatonic Museum before becoming founding Creative Director at Franklin Street Works, an award-winning, not-for-profit contemporary space in Stamford, CT, where she has curated or co-curated 18 original shows, worked with 22 guest curators and exhibited more than 350 internationally exhibiting artists.
